Taxi Driver Apology

Summer of 1969, I drove a cab in NYC. I picked up a fare - a youngish gal - in midtown who wanted to go to Meserole Street in Brooklyn. No GPS or Waze back then, so I checked my handy-dandy Hagstrom paper map of Brooklyn and found it. We schlep to the street and it was a pretty harsh industrial neighborhood in Greenpoint. She paid me, got out, and I left her there. Many years later I found out that crazy Brooklyn has a Meserole Street and a Meserole Avenue, in two very different areas. I obviously had dropped her off on Meserole Avenue instead of Street. I'll never know what happened to her in that rough spot with little chance of finding another ride out. Whoever you are, please accept my apologies! Brooklyn...jeez!
