Regarding Canarsie, I used to take my bike and pedal to 10559 Avenue N, and 10621 Avenue J, where relatives lived. Then, there was a lot of development, and a lot of empty lots. It was almost like the country, and certainly there was a lot less traffic at the time. I occasionally keep up with news in Brooklyn, as there are a few online tv news sites.
