My Mom (now 100 years old!) and my brother and one aunt still in Brooklyn.
So I still visit - Mill Basin. Sheepshead Bay and Bath Beach (near Verrazano Bridge).
I moved out from Flatbush for my job at age 20...
I still prefer city life (fantasy?) but without a car!
Someday I may give the trendier sections of Brooklyn a look see...eg when/if unable to drive.
Love being able to WALK foe most things one needs or enjoys.
Lived in Greenwich Village for a few years ...close to my ideal at the time...

Regarding rudeness...I can tell when I have left NJ ...all of a sudden car horns are honking! Cars and cities are a mismatch...
