Gil Hodges was a gentleman, both on and off the field. I was very glad to hear of this long overdue honor (after fifty years), being given to Gil. His daughter was at the ceremony in Cooperstown, to accept this honor. The Marine Parkway Bridge, in the late 1970's, was renamed the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge.
