JIM,we purchased our clinchers from Friedman's on Flatbush Ave across from Erasmus for our fast pitch Sunday morning twin bills in leagues at Leif Ericson (Bay Ridge)- Roy H Mann (Mill Basin) - and finally for the long haul at Luna Park and Mark Twain in (Coney Island) and Seth Low in Bensonhurst-all on cement fields! We were Nomads- our practice field was closer to home -the field across from Midwood HS. I played 3B so I really loved the true hard hit hops at the hot corner. We had to supply 2 new clinchers for each doubleheader-so after 25 years of playing ball the supply of equipment (not to mention League Fees,ump fees and side bets ) it all added up! (LOL) Still miss the 60s -80s years of competition!
