Thanks for your comments, and I totally agree with you. Unlike most of today's kids, we had to use our limited resources. No packaged entertainments (like video games, cds, Facebook, Tik Tok, "smart" phones, streaming services), we used our imaginations, and we accepted our circumstances of what we did have. There were no expectations of what we should have, and just made do. I don't say those were "the good old days", but I think we were happy and proud of our "accomplishments". We accepted our predicaments - the realities and dealt with them.

By the way, Barbara, I've written before on the "Board", on the amazing popularity of the name at the time. In one grade (third or fourth), there were SIX Barbaras in my class!!
