A small number of us boys on Dean Street decided to try to make a few coins shoveling snow for our neighbors. I had just grabbed my Dad's shovel and started to leave the areaway in front, when Mom and Dad called me inside and insisted that I sit and watch the Inauguration of JFK. I was disappointed that the guys used our shovel in my absence. But in the long run, sixty-one years later, I am glad I can remember watching that event and hearing that memorable speech live.
