Glad to see the legend of Harvey Kolonko still survives. I know I mentioned him here a few times. I remember he had a friend named Homiak (I think Walter was his first name) who was supposed to be a pretty good hardball player. They were both about four years older than me. I went to 217 and thru Erasmus with his sister, Eleanor Homiak, who lived down the block from me on Webster Avenue. We used to play in the empty lots that became the buildings on each side of Webster at the corners of East 8th. Then played in the abandoned private houses on Webster that became the big apartment building between East 8th and Ocean Pky. I remember playing a game of stickball in 217 with Harvey when I was about 20 and he was wearing his grey Academy uniform. Just as an FYI, I noticed there is actually a new hotel on the corner of Webster and CIA where the gas station and then Jiffy Lube used to be.
