I still live in the "City", the closest borough is Brooklyn but on the very southern end of Staten Island, NYC, and NYS, and yet I don't go back there too often and certainly not via public transit. Although I have ab EZ Pass the toll is too high and the traffic is horrendous.
I just got back from Pennsylvania from my first family gathering in a year! But before I went last Friday, I had to stop to get a dozen freshly-made bagels and thin-crust pizza. The family can get these items up there, but they prefer the NYC goodies. I used to think that maybe the difference was the water, but my daughter's property meets the Delaware River, and NYC water comes from the Delaware Water Reservoir system. Her tap water tastes the same as mine, so the difference must be the handed-down expertise of those who make the bagels and pizza.
