"Santa" left a big girl's Schwinn burgundy and cream bicycle. I was about 11 and very small for my age. I had trouble reaching the pedals at first, but I was thrilled and rode it standing up rather than sitting on the seat at first. I went all over the neighborhood. My biggest thrill was going up and down the alleyways that ran behind the houses for three blocks in a row en route to Marine Park. I had to share it, though, with my older sister who soon became boy-crazy, and the bike was too tom-boyish for her.
