There has been an attempt for many years to absolve O'Malley of blame and put it on the shoulders of Robert Moses. While Moses was not a nice person, it is still not clear if he could waive New York's eminent domain laws to give O'Malley what he wanted. Of course if the same thing happened today, it wouldn't matter as much as it ded then and you would be able to watch the games on television anyway and couldn't afford to go to the games anyway.
