In the 50s used to go to the Marine Theater (Flatbush and Kings Hway) to see a double feature and a live showing of a Saturday afternoon Notre Dame football game-all for $5.00! Big Irish "Subway Alumni" crowd in attendance. Nowadaze one of the few movie theaters still around is the mighty Kent (CI Ave and Ave H)-tiny back in the day ....and now a triplex (LOL). As kids the movie of our choice was the Leader near PS 217! Long gone are Flatbush Ave favs - Rialto, Loews Kings, Albemarle, Astor, Kenmore, and also the Midwood (not on Flatbush)-but great then for the kids with their holiday Christmas shows!
