Many renamed bridges, tunnels, and parkways were originally named for general locations like the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, now the Hugh L Carey Tunnel, the East 59th Street Bridge, now the Howard I Koch Bridge, the Interboro Parkway (which traversed Brooklyn and Queens to Long Island), now the Jackie Robinson Parkway, and the Marine Park Bridge, from Marine Park, Brooklyn, to Jacob Riis Park and the Rockaways, in Queens, is now the Gil Hodges Bridge. I'm sure there are others. Can you name any others? It's a mind-bend for us oldsters, for now we have to rethink where we're going - unless one has a GPS.
