I know what you mean. I was seven when they left Brooklyn. For a few years I rooted for the team anyway while nursing a grudge for O'Malley. The expansion Mets won me over in the 1960's. After sixty some years, I have to agree that the move of the Dodgers and the Giants west past the Mississippi was good for baseball if not for Brooklyn. But I have lived in Albuquerque for twenty years now and the d@*n Dodgers have left "my" town three times now: First in Brooklyn in '57, then the Albuquerque Dukes (the Dodgers PCL AAA farm team) left for points north in 2000. Next in 2014, when the Dodgers who had been the Major League counterpart for the Albuquerque Isotopes (again the Albuquerque AAA PCL franchise) since 2007 left for Oklahoma City when the new LA management decided to own their MiLB affiliates. A lot of locals still think the Dodgers are "their" team, but I know differently. Brooklyn survived the Dodgers. Brooklyn always will. But I still miss Ebbets Field.
