As a teen my friends and I made the long treck from Williamsburg to Brighten Beach
Bay 3 daily. All our friends were there. In order to get there had to take a train into Manhattan and then catch the proper train to Brighten Beach. A long trip but with lots of friends, so much fun.
Later I moved to Sheepshead Bay and a short bus to Brighten was terrific. Now Bay 2 was our preferred place. Sometimes we walked all the way from home.
When we left the beach we stopped at a candy store for our favorite Ice Cream sodas. Forgot the name of the store but years later a friend of mine said her hubby owned it and later it burned down.
