My sisters and I went to P.S. 222 on Quentin Rd, between E 33 and 34th Sts (Marine Park). Back then, this grammar school had grades kindergarten through 8th. However, one sister attended there through the first year of high school while a new junior high was being built (that was the school comedian Chris Rock attended and was part of the storyline for his TV show "Everyone Hates Chris"). Her class was the start of the "Baby Boomers". James Madison High School was way too overcrowded to accept new freshmen at that time, 1962. (I think Sheepshead High School was also being built at that time.) When she finally started as a soph in '63, Madison adjusted by having class periods from "1" (8am) through "Z", ending about 6pm!
