I remember playing at all those great fields. We also played in the schoolyards on concrete. My kids couldn't believe that. No bad hops anyway. We used to climb over a high fence at PS 193, now Gil Hodges, to get in when it was closed. We also played at a grade school across Bedford from Midwood. Cant remember the number. Of course we also played in the streets and learned to hide our bats so the police wouldn't take them. They usually were nice and apologized for chasing us but someone called and complained. I also remember playing on AVE k between New York AV and 34th st. It was a main ave but so few cars that we had no problem with traffic.
