I'd heard that this pig-out is supposed to be on July 4th. Unlike protesters, we here in NYC can't go out without masks and distancing, BUT we can look forward to Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest! It's quite distressing as all the TV station report on what's opening up in Connecticut and New Jersey, even upstate NY, BUT not the city. We're just in Phase 1 (which, to me, is almost the same as the 100-day lockdown) - and now Cuomo is threatening to go back to Phase 0 because of gatherings at cafes and bars.

Well I remember Tilyou's Steeplechase horses and the mean, ugly clown who swatted you if you made the mistake of exiting the race onto the stage. A neighborhood friend worked at Steeplechase and gave us leftover, partially-punched tickets - we only had to pay the admission if Danny wasn't at the gate. I loved the big slide, but not the swings. Nathan's french fries were the best.
