Thanks for posting, and keep it up. Your and others' posts are important and interesting for the life of this board. Pay no attention "to that man behind the curtain." I personally don't care for these types of contests. As an annual event and a long-standing tradition, like the Coney's Mermaid Parade, that gets a lot of publicity, there are people and attendees who would be interested in knowing whether or not it is to be cancelled. Despite the back-lash over the post, I'd still like to know the contest's status.

Because of this virus crisis, we don't know from one week to the next what's to be on or off. (I'd spent hours on the phone, reading and listening to media reports, and on DMV's website, and as of this morning I was unable to ascertain what was happening/going to happen with my expiring driver's license. I finally called my local state assemblyman and was told that all licenses are indefinitely extended. To when the extension ends, who knows?)
