Dave and Tony- John Cashmore is correct! Incidentally, the other day, my brother and I were exchanging memories about P.S. 217, especially when the teacher would yell out "TAKE COVER", and we would bang our heads on the side of the desk trying to get under the desk. The latter procedure, was an exercise in futility, as it would have made better sense to have everyone line up in the hallways, where there would have been better protection, from flying glass. Also, we were both recalling the dog tags that they had us wear. I'm very sorry that I never saved mine. I read that the Board of Education spent $150,000 on those dog tags, which in today's dollar, probably would be about $3,000,000.
