I played golf there in the early 60s. Remember going to sign in for a start time, going home and have breakfast, returning later to still have a wait. It was the closest course to play living in Brooklyn. Wisened up later and took the Staten Island ferry at 5am to be at course there by 6. We we usually in one of the first 4 foursomes to tee off. At least we were home by noon. I also pushed a good humor ice cream cart along that street above the parkway. (maybe Ft Hamilton Pky) when the bridge was being built. Didn't sell much along the street until I pushed the cart across to the walk path along the parkway where I would sell in a hour. The good old Brooklyn days.
