reading the last couple of posts i see i have some statland neighbors here.
little suprise there, as statland is some times viewed as brooklyn with a cover charge.

ive have found numerous good pizzerias and bakeries here.
some come and some go, but there are always enough.

i dont compare them to those from brooklyn 50 years ago .
times change, recipes change, ingredients change, menus change ,and customers tastes change.

it reminds me of the song, the way we were. "can it be it was all so simple then or has time rewitten every line". and although this conversation is specific to food, it also applies to all else.

because when we think back we tend to always think back on all the good. but if we pause we would soon remember it was not all always good. and so it goes, good and bad then, and good and bad now.

brooklyn style....who knows...but if nothing else we take it as a compliment.
when we visit florida we see a number of 'new york' signs....new york pizza, new york deli, new york chinese food. it does get our attention, and thats just what they set out to do.
