Many years ago, early 40's I registered at PS 119 I think. Near Flatbush and Ave K. My name was and still is Clair Frederick. I was not allowed to use Clair as it was a girls name so I had to use Fred. I used Clair with neighborhood friends and Fred at school. I was Clair in the service and college and back to Fred at work. It was tough doing Christmas cards as we had to figure who I was to the person the card was going to. As I recall they tried to change me from left handed to right handed. My wife said its no wonder I'm all screwed up. She's right. By the way we found that the school was wrong too. I should have registered at PS 193 not PS119 I still use both names depending on the situation.
