It was November 1965. I was 17 and sitting in my bedroom listening to 77 WABC and then the music started to slow down. I looked out my window to see what was doing because the light in my bedroom was starting to grow dimmer. Being on the 6th floor, the view that I had looking north down Nostrand Av. had an unobstructed view of the upper floors of the Empire State Building. The light on top was flickering on and off as were the lights in my apartment. Then the light went out completely as did the power for as far as I could see. My friends and I had a great time that night and I believe that the power wasn't restored until the morning of the next day.
