In my early years it would be to go in the sprinklers at any playground,or Manhattan Beach with my family..In my pre-teen and early teen years it would be turning on the johnny pump, still going to Manhattan Beach with my friends by bike, train or bus.On the way home we would take a few dips diving off the Sheepshead Bay bridge..We'd even dive off the lamp posts into the Bay..Our mid teens we would then venture out to Riis a lot,and sneak in Philip Howard apartments pool at night. All the theaters on Flatbush would have the sign "Come on in.It's cold inside". We'd also go into Macy's and walk around just to cool off.The cold air would hit you right when you walked in..We'd also go in the pool in the Flatbush Boys Club..In the summer you'd have to join the Summer Village program that they had..Those were the days..
