Nathan Pintchick & Sons was located on Bergen Street, the south side, just west of Flatbush Avenue. It consisted of several row houses cobbled together forming the retail premises. My father would buy paint and wallpaper nowhere else for the two rooming houses he owned and operated in the area. I don't know when it closed, but the last time I was on Bergen Street was in March 2003 after my mother's funeral. I drove through the neighborhood and was disappointed at how little was left of what I remembered. Even the Daily News (and the Daily Mirror) workspaces in row houses just west of the Bergen Street (78th Precinct) station house were only memories.
