I heartily agree with the first and last several paragraphs of your post, particularly the second paragraph. And, Joe, thanks for responding to my question asking for tunes from the WWII era which, Dave, is consistent with this Board's Guidelines, specifically "Nostalgia". I fondly recall those songs and instrumentals later on when visiting my grandparents, listening to "The Makebelieve Ballroom", and seeing WWII movies with those numbers and soundtracks on tv.

My commenting on your political views, one way or the other, will only add fuel to the comments posted by Dave who like most celebrities, "reporters", and comedians don't realize the difference between political commentary, humor, entertainment, and personal opinion. They assume their comments are gospel. Speaking of which, I can only paraphrase a statement from the Gospel, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." Okay, I know that's arrogant. Oh, where are today's Walter Cronkites Jimmy Cagneys, and Richard Pryors who knew where to draw the line? I never knew nor cared what their political views and affiliations were. They didn't go on tv shows to trumpet their leanings.
