Jack, still in FLATBUSH 77 YEARS PLUS (altho now the neighborhood is known as Ditmas Park) and still waiting for the Brooks to come home from this extended road trip (LOL)! Like you I took the Subway to College -St Peters in "Joisy" City plus added Hudson Tubes (now PATH) to my trip. We're friendly hoops rivals in the MAAC along with my old Brooklyn Prep classmate Bob F who you know from your old neighborhood and is also a fellow Jasper.Loads of changes here -no more Mom and Pop candy stores or ice cream parlors (Herman's, Fulton's, Karps, Jahns etc., long gone are the movie theaters of Flatbush in the 50's and earlier -Leader,Midwood, Rialto, Kenmore, Albemarle-but the small and mighty Kent still exists as a Triplex and the refurbished Loews Kings is now a special event theater. Gone are stickball games,Ringolevio (Sp),Red Rover, I declare War etc-Old formidable street gangs like the Ditmas Dukes, Foster Gents,Gremlins, Flatbush Tigers are all history now! So many changes-good, bad and indifferent!! Wish Ebingers would return tho!
