My Dad worked for the Sanitation and on off days he worked construction. He worked really hard from the late 1940's. I went to PS 181 and the Flatbush Boys Club for "summer vacation".

My Mom was in charge of money and a remarkable thing happened. We thought that our mortgage on our house on East 35th was for 15 years but Mom made a change and it was re-written to an 11 year duration.

So we had the house free and clear and the upstairs rental paid taxes and other bills.

In 1959 we bought a new cabin in the Poconos in Bushkill that was great. My Dad loved farms and he retired and we sold Bushkill and bought a 50 acre farm in Warren Center PA where he had cows and horses and pigs etc. The neighbors still get a kick from the farmer from Brooklyn.
