So, at almost 8 years of age in 1952, after seeing two runs of "Ivanhoe" at the Kings, I went with two of my friends to soak up more air conditioning at the nearby Macy's Flatbush. At that time, Macy's had pinball-type games in the mezzanine level that faced out to Flatbush Avenue. Of course, that was a big draw for us.

Well, by time I got home, my Mother was quite upset. She was afraid I had been kidnapped and was just about to call the police, etc., etc. Point well taken! Lesson learned! Of course, I would go through the same thing with my kids.... Mom, you were right!
