2 teams out of the neighborhood 60s thru early 80s-e.17st and Moriaritys (MO's) Newkirk Plaza.E 17 played in leagues from Bay Ridge (Leif Ericson); Mill Basin (Lincoln Terrace, and Roy H. Mann); and finally in the fast pitch Sunday Morning Doubleheader Luna Park League (Luna Park, Mark Twain, Seth Low,Vanderveer, and 4 or 5 other fields). MO's played in the ARC League in Red Hook. At various times we hooked up and combined to play outside games. Sometimes We also "Scrimmaged" against each other (LOL). A lot of the players were products of neighborhood baseball teams in the 50s-Our Lady of Refuge Baseball (CYO Sr team (ages 15-17)coached by Danny Riordan) and our younger Brothers who played for big (6:8) Don Brinster on the Flatbush Rockets in the Freshman Division (ages 11-13) of the Parade Ground League. E 17 also added some terrific players from the 152 area (Across from Midwood High School) -which we used as our practice field! Still miss those days!!
