I guess I was about 4 or 5, my dad took me to Prospect Park. We walked through the tunnel and ahead of us (by the copse of trees) was an anti aircraft gun. It was surrounded by one of those beach fences (red slats wired together). Was it a real site or a training site??
Second question :
My dad remembered large trucks hauling dirt to the Navy Yard. Tghe dirt was taken from behind the Museum. In the 50's we'd play baseball in that area. It's now the Museum/Gardens parking lot. Any truth to that story ??
