Does anyone here recall this old, old tv children's show? It was on Channel 5 (Dumont) here in Brooklyn for just a few years in the late '40-early'50s. My sisters and I watched it on our Hallicrafters table top (with the requisite antennae, rabbit ears.) The host was Pat Michaels who used to draw pictures from stories. The setting of the "Cottage" looked like the one from Hansel and Gretel. I loved the show's theme music which turned out to be a classical piece. When I recently heard this music on NPR, I called the station and managed to get the name of this obscure, distinctive piece, but I cannot recall it now. I looked the show up on line and learned that there was only one or two films left in existence. Of course, it was before "Captain Kangaroo", "Ding Dong School", "Mister Rogers", and "Sesame Street". Does anyone else recall this little gem?
