I agree about some controversy. Years ago before the bulk of the "Message Content Guidelines" expanded, there were major conflicts on the Board many of which would now violate many of those Guidelines. Although not a confrontational person myself, I must say I rather enjoyed those brouhahas, some of which got personal, very few political, but definitely politically incorrect and, at times funny, which went on for days. Recently, there was an extended skirmish about O'Malley and the Dodgers, I think, and ended when one of the participants withdrew from posting and threatened to quit the Board when he got a lot of blow-back from others, if I remember correctly. I don't think he has posted since.
I understand the rationale behind the some Guidelines. Perhaps some tweaking of the Guidelines can be done in the areas of "General Nostalgia" (I enjoyed the "candy", etc, posts which brought back childhood memories in Brooklyn),"Current Events", "Trivia Questions or Quizzes" (I don't get this at all), and "Plugging Other Websites". Would it be possible to allow some leeway on them to let posters have their say and remove these posts if they go too far? I'm sure "Boarders" will let the Board and other posters know if this is indeed the case.
This is my first post in quite a while because of the "Guidelines" and whether my post(s) would have been in compliance.
