A sad day indeed: October 31, 1956. I remember being at the corner of East 18th Street and Church Avenue and seeing a trolley car stop there. I knew that the following day would be the start of a new era; however, as an almost-12 year old it seemed unreal. Could it really happen? But, November 1st came and Brooklyn would never be the same; there were now busses on the Church Avenue route!

As to the Dodgers, I'll just say this: I've lived in the Los Angeles area for many years but the last Dodger game I attended was at Ebbets Field.
