It has a lot to do with age. I was a Brooklyn Dodger fan. When they moved to L.A. I became a Yankee fan and have been ever since. I was born in 1948 and was only 9 when they left Brooklyn (I lived on Bedford Av Between Clarendon and Av D). The older Dodger fans were less likely to root for the hated Yankees and many became Met fans with expansion in 1962. No way would I root for a team in Los Angeles.
