There were many /changing desires during childhood. My most persistent desires were to become a New York City cop or a Naval Officer. After college graduation, I was a surface line Naval Officer and got to sail on my Uncle's yacht around the Gulf of Tonkin to the Gulf of Thailand. That lasted only as long as the War. Never returned to Brooklyn or New York other than to visit. But I spent a career with and retired as a special agent from the Naval Investigative Service/Naval Criminal Investigative Service (the real NCIS. And, no. I don't watch the TV show.)
