I remember that day very well, in 1955. The next day, the NY Daily News had a huge headline entitled "Who's a Bum". However, I can't understand the continuous venom on this board, over 60 years later, directed against Walter O'Malley. He was a businessman; it is the responsibility of all responsible businessmen to protect the bottom line, no matter how unpopular that decision may be. Also, in the sixty plus years, since that decision was made, there have been other major league teams, which have relocated to other cities. For example, the Washington Senators moved to Minnesota. Walter O'Malley did not operate in a vacuum. Where was the esteemed Mayor, Robert F. Wagner, when this was taking place? Also, I've never read about the resentment that former NY Giants had about the Giants moving to San Francisco, which was on a par with the resentment that Brooklyn fans felt, and still feel. I think that after sixty years, for your own peace of mind, you should all get over the resentment, regarding the move. I didn't like the move either, but we can't change the past. Case closed.
