Jim, as I was saying above-I batted leadoff for OLR and against Leder I HEARD 6 pitches cross the plate for 2 ks (LOL)! He and a couple of SJP players always had Our Lady Help of Christians atop the Division along with the hard rock Italian kids from St. Athanasius some of whom played for PSAL powerhouse Lafayette.Latr on OLHC dropped their program and Leder, Jamins, John Comer, Billy McLaughlin and Company came over to OLR and won a Diocesan title for Refuge! It was too late for me and some friends as our eligibility ran out before that. Rivalry between the 3 Preps was always something special-esp the Turkey Day Games at Ebbets Field between BP and SJP-crowds close to 20,000-before THE GAME moved to Brooklyn College!
