When I graduated from Ditmas JHS in June, 1959, Harry Shapiro had been a counselor during the preceding school year; perhaps, even longer, I don't remember. Looking back, I think it's possible that he was "rotated out" of teaching for that year/those years due to his sometimes explosive anger. Maybe, one or more parents took the school, or higher administration, to task for his sudden, over-the-top eruptive anger in class.

A couple of interesting things that I remember about Mr. Shapiro: he had great penmanship, which I tried to emulate; he had a son who graduated from Tufts University..
