From our neighborhood the best athlete was John Dockery of Brooklyn Prep. He set the NY State football scoring record in '62. He played on the basketball team. He was all city as a catcher on the baseball team. He was CHSAA 100 yard dash winner at 10.0.

He went to Harvard and played for the Jets in their Super Bowl year - playing as a receiver and defensive back.

Billy Camera was Dockery's partner as QB in HS and as 3rd baseman.

I graduated St Francis in '63 with Lloyd "Sonny" Dove. He had a great 3 years at St Johns. In those days freshmen were ineligible to play Varsity. He remains the highest ranked NBA draftee at #4 (I think Elvin Hayes was #1)
