Nate we used to get our chocolate, vanilla, and sometimes coffee egg creams at our local Mom and Pop candy store(which was really A Pop and Son-Max and Richie Borenstein) on Foster Ave between E.17 and e.18 streets. Later on in my workaday commute to and from Jersey City when the PATH trains were on strike, I would stop off from the NJ Transit buses which transported us to and fro from Canal Street Staging area and get my egg cream fix in a paper cup from the open windows of Dave's Luncheonette on Canal Street for my subway trip home to Newkirk Plaza! BTW Cott's Orange Soda was a favorite also-it always had some citrus pieces in the drink!
