I remember those seltzer bottles very well. I think that they were manufactured by a company called Schrage, but I'm not sure. Our delivery man used to drag crates of them up several flights of stairs, along with Cott soda (ginger ale, cherry flavor, etc.). I remember that the seltzer bottle had a range of about 6-7 feet, when it was fully depressed. One day, I waited until my brother came home; as soon as he came in the door, I "ambushed" him with the seltzer bottle. Today, I regret doing that. In the movie "Cast a Giant Shadow", Frank Sinatra threw seltzer bottles out of an aircraft, against enemy troop concentrations. The seltzer bottles made a whistling sound coming down, and exploded on impact.
