Daily French for 2 years '59-'61 at Seth Low JHS with Mme Bogdanow ( tough but dedicated and quite able)...we all did well on the 2 year Regents exam...then on to daily French for 3 years at Madison ('61-64) with Mrs Braverman, Mme Cohen ( a holocaust survivor with a tattoo on her wrist which she did not hide) and then Braverman again when we were Seniors...then on to Brooklyn College where in my first semester there our prof was Jacques Travers -from France-.. I still remember discussing Andromaque by Racine ..IN FRENCH...without translating as the class discussed it...holy cow I was FLUENT !!!! I've been in southern California since 1980...that French doesn't do me much good here. Those teachers were great!
