My story on a book I couldn't put down involves a book called "The Long Walk" about a Polish POW in WW2 in the Soviet Union who escapes and makes it through a huge number of obstacles through Siberia, etc. A number of people join up with him and some pass away etc. I could not put it down and went into the early hours of the morning and was tired the next day. When I had finished it I checked it out on the internet and learned it was pure fiction. The author had never served in the Polish military and the story had been debunked years earlier. What a bummer! I was so POed.
