For displaced, misplaced, and nostalgic ex-Brooklynites

OH What I long for NOW!!

I lived in Bensonhurst--I MISS IRVINGS JEWISH appetizing store on 65th st near Mc donald ave. Pickle barrels pickled herring lox and all sorts of great foods in trays and jars, I cross over to Ave p and there is John's Pork store with hanging italian cheeses in the window the aroma of cooking sausages and meatballs bracciole and in the big soup pot pasta e fagiole,,fresh Italian bread baking, hams,sausage,soprisata, and my favorite real aged sharp provole in triangle wedges mozzarella, and olive oils from Italy---I long for his Italian Hero with everything aboard----oh wow!! i just made my self Hungry!!! wish I had these stores near me now--do the still exist in the Brooklyn I just described I live 70 miles to the east and have nothing close to my imagination out here
in Medford Long Island
