I was stationed at Ft. Hamilton from 62-63-had a front row seat from the Transfer Station Office for the construction of the Bridge. Coming back off pass at nite and viewing the lights on the Bridge was spectacular! Also because Ft Hamilton had no Target firing ranges the Company at The Post had to qualify with our weapons at Ft Wadsworth on Staten Island.Most of the troops went over by boat-I and a few others went over by jeep before the Bridge was ever opened to The public! Totally a memorable site/sight!!
