The building of the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge

I never had the opportunity to actually go to the Bay Ridge area, to witness the construction of the Verrazzano Bridge. I remember the scaffolding for that bridge appearing in view in 1963, while I was crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. Hence, I was shocked, when in 1963, I read that two teenagers, actually had the nerve to walk from the Brooklyn side of that still unopened bridge (on the scaffolding), to the Staten Island side. How stupid can someone be, to have pulled a dangerous stunt such as that one? In any event, when they reached the Staten Island side, they were promptly arrested. When they returned home to their respective families, I seriously doubt if they received a "time out".
