I remember a few on that side of Flatbush opposite the Macy's side but a little further down near Dorchester. I started college - Kingsborough then Brooklyn - when I was in my mid-20s in the mid '70s and needed to get some quick cash so I thought I could sell all my old baseball scorecards and yearbooks and stat books from the '50s and '60s to one of those stores. So I filled up a few cardboard boxes and brought them over to one of those used book stores on Flatbush. Well, there was no such thing as memorabilia then and stuff like that was selling, not buying for less than 25 cents a piece, especially the condition they were in. Good thing I didn't hail a cab I wasn't driving cause what I got for all my stuff might not have paid for a round trip. A few years later that store and a few connected to it burned down, so even if I wanted to buy them back I wouldn't have been able to.
