I REMEMBER THE AIR RAID SIREENS THE WARDENS ,THE DARK GREEN WINDOW SHADES. US KIDS WOULD TAKE OUR WAGONS AND GO HUNTING FOR SCRAP METALS AND OTHER THINGS TO AID THE WAR EFFORT. DAD HAD TO PAINT THE UPPER HALF OF THE HEADLIGHTS BLACK ON THE FAMILY CAR. IT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME BUT ALL AMERICANS WERE UNITED BEHIND PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT
